Gerry Gamble
Gerry has lived in Kington St Michael for the last 12 years. He lives with his wife Lyn and dog Fred. Between them Lyn and Gerry have 5 children 3 of whom grew up in the village and attended the village school. Gerry is a retired headteacher and since moving to the village has become very involved in village life. He has previously been a volunteer in the village shop and currently, through his role on the Parish Council, supports the Almshouses and the QE II Field Committee.

Alex Hall – Vice Chair
Alex has lived in Kington St Michael since 1974 and has had a varied career in research for various government agencies, as a charity consultant specialising in migration and health, as a database
programmer and as a businessman. He lives in the village with his wife and three children and is a keen black metal musician, mushroom forager and amateur well driller.

Steve Woodhead
Steve has lived in Kington St Michael since 1991 and is a Chartered Engineer responsible for wine production facilities in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Chile.
He and his partner Tina have two daughters and he has a keen interest in rugby , cricket , football , shooting and music ( listening and playing badly).
In 2023 he decided to stand as a Parish Councillor when a vacancy arose and to support the Council and residents of Kington St Michael to make the village a safer and valued community.

Tim Mead
Tim Mead has lived in the village with his wife and two children since 2001 and has been an active member of community life throughout. He previously served as Chair of Acorns Preschool, supporting early years education and strengthening local ties. Now as a parish councillor, Tim is committed to ensuring Kington St Michael remains a vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming place for all residents.
With extensive experience in the global telecommunications industry, Tim is well travelled and brings a wealth of strategic, organisational, and problem-solving skills to his role. He is particularly interested in accessibility, community facilities, and practical projects that make a positive difference to everyday village life.

William Roe
Will has lived in the village for the last 40 years. He is married with two sons, one of which still lives in the village. Will is retired but during his career he worked as a hydrographic surveyor, mostly abroad.

Oliver Mead
Oliver is a lifelong resident of the village and the youngest member of the parish council. He is studying wildlife ecology and conservation science at university and is passionate about preserving Britain’s unique ecosystems. In his free time, Oliver is a huge fan of extreme and obscure music. If He’s not in the village, he’s probably lurking about Bristol’s punk & metal scene.

Peter Macdonald – Chair
Peter and his wife Katrina have lived in Kington St Michael since 1995, apart from some time abroad due to service in the Royal Air Force and NATO. He is a manager in a firm providing training, globally, for pilots’ licences, commercial and non-commercial. Peter was a founder member of the playground committee (now QE II playing field), ran the village firework display for a number of years and planted trees in the Nymph Hay wood. He is a keen supporter of the café and occasional user of the village shop. A Parish Councillor since 2018 responsible for Highways liaison, including the Parish Steward whom he meets monthly to discuss works required. He has had some success maintaining the village roads and drains, including improving signage and markings at the Tor Hill crossroads.

Fiona Twisse
Fiona lives in the village with her family who all love living in the village, exploring Nymph Hay Woods and making use of village amenities like the Recreation Field, Shop, Cafe and Social Club. She is a Whole Systems and Networks Advisor with a focus on decarbonisation and helping UK business and industrial sectors achieve Net Zero. Ultimately, Fiona is keen to support the Parish Council and KSM residents to ensure that the Village continues to be a welcoming, safe, clean and pleasant place to live.

John Newton
John Newton was trained and served in the Royal Air Force for 37 years. His wife had Alzheimer’s and died in 2014 but he has 2 children with lovely families. His hobbies are gardening and – COVID permitting – travel.
